“How much does a video cost?” It’s almost always the first question, and the honest answer is: it depends. Here’s what really makes a quote vary, so you know what to ask for and where to invest.
1. Filming time
This is the first item on any quote. Half a day is often enough for one or two reels in a single location; a full day lets you film several spaces, several people or an event from start to finish.
The better prepared the shoot — locations ready, people available, a clear schedule — the more the time is spent filming rather than waiting.
2. The number of videos and formats
A two-minute brand film, three vertical reels and a set of photos don’t involve the same amount of work: each format delivered has its own edit.
The good news: a single day of filming can feed several formats. It’s often the most cost-effective way to work.
3. Editing and finishing
Editing often takes as long as filming, sometimes longer: selecting shots, pacing, colour grading, sound, subtitles. The number of revision rounds included also counts.
4. Options
Some elements are added depending on how the video will be used:
- subtitles in several languages (French, English, German…);
- licensed music for use in advertising;
- a voice-over or interviews;
- travel outside Luxembourg;
- photos taken during the same shoot.
5. A one-off video or ongoing monthly support
A one-off video meets a specific need: an opening, a launch, an event. For a regular presence on Instagram, monthly support — one shoot every month — is often simpler to manage and produces more consistent content over time.
How to prepare your request
To get an accurate quote, the most useful thing is to be able to answer three questions: what will the video be used for, where will it be published, and when do you need it? The brief form guides you step by step, and every project is quoted individually after an initial conversation.
